Architects in the history of architecture try to be understood by their ideas that their designs need to be present on earth. Turgut Cansever (1920-2009) is an important opponent architect who was prized by Aga Khan Awards for architecture three times in his professional life and established his architectural understanding of the architecture of Ottoman and Islamic culture. This study aims to describe the life and work of the architect and his opinion about Islamic-Ottoman Architecture. Setting his architectural conception on a broader belief, Cansever strengthens his apprehension of architecture with his practice and literature studies. This unique approach in his works is shaped by a point of view that criticizes modernity but aims to validate it by reinterpreting in line with Islamic architecture. The references in the background of the structures of Cansever is thought to be too complex to read at a time. The understanding of Cansever's original designer perspective will be possible through the discussion of his synthesis resulted from the thoughts of Islamic architecture, Ottoman Architecture and modern architecture, and their reflections on his structures.

The first year of design education is essential for students as it is their initial interaction with the design process. Awareness of the body through dance has the potential to reveal bodily experience in space. Abstraction of embodied experience contributes to realising the significance of the body and its analytical dimension for spatial and structural design. This study investigates the impact of embodied experience and abstraction on the architectural design process and the outcome through correlation and regression analysis. We observed that increasing awareness of the space through bodily movement and its drawn representation positively impacted students’ success in architectural design. Also, the measures related to space and structure mainly advanced students’ success in the final design. However, the association of the abstraction process with the final design remained limited. The study’s contribution is the systematic and statistical evaluation of the relationship between body, movement, abstraction and architectural design by constructing a set of measures from various stages of the design studio. We hope our research will provide a basis for the upcoming discourse.

Abstract:Children, who are the most weak people about sensibility and telling their desires clearly, act differently at every age phases. Because of this, child oriented designs must appeal to children about whole ages and features. Playgrounds are places where children of all ages and features spend their times commonly. But when these playgrounds were observed, that can be seen, playgrounds can not meet children's need and, because of this, they become quitted places. Within this article, child, play and playground concepts have been examined and the parameters of playground design have been classified. The aim of article is revealing the parameters for playgrounds design and offering a guide so that it can give an idea for the new designs.

Utopia, a phenomenon shaped in the frame of criticism, can be described as a proposal representing hope for the future. Architecture, which is a critical practice, creates new grounds for debate in the discipline with utopia designs. When utopian approaches of the past and contemporary architectural products are examined, it can be observed that utopias can be transformed into the facts of today. In this sense, this article aims to question whether contemporary approaches are inspired by the utopian propositions of the past. It was tried to be comprehended the utopian examples of parasitic architecture and the manifestations of currently produced samples. Examples were criticized with the aid of the analysis sheet prepared in the light of the specified parameters and the contributions of the utopias to the embodiment process of the design in the real world were questioned. In the context of parasitic architecture, it can be seen that approaches of both are similar. The accuracy of the thesis on that, no matter how much time passes over the utopian spatial productions, they continue to be valid and embody in the case of sufficient technology is debated. It is right to say that architecture continues to criticize, produce solutions for the current situations in every period, and doing so, it benefits from the pioneering attitude of utopias.
