Five new species of genus Ptychopter Meigen are described from China: Ptychoptera bannaensis sp. nov., P. lii sp. nov., P. lushuiensis sp. nov., P. qinggouensis sp. nov. and P. wangae sp. nov. A key to the known species of Ptychoptera in China is presented.
Three new species were described and illustrated from South Laos in this paper, two of them, Phetehaburus caricae sp. nov. infesting Carica papaya L. (Caricaceae) and Phyllocoptruta tabernaemontana sp. nov. infesting Tabernaemontana divaricata L. (Apocynaceae) belong to subfamily Phyllocoptinae (Eriophyidae) and another species, Diptilomiopus careyus sp. nov. infesting Careya arborea Roxb. (Lecythidaceae) belongs to Diptilomiopinae (Diptilomiopidae). All the new species described herein are vagrants on the host plant.
Two species of the genus Neoperla Needham, 1905 from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of southern China are treated, the description of one new species, N. shiwandashana sp. nov., and the first Chinese record of N. yentu Cao & Bae, 2007. Illustrations and color images are provided for each species and the new species is compared with related congeners.
