Using the Scopus database between the years of 2000 and 2019, a bibliometric study was done to analyze the scientific publications in the area of photovoltaic solar energy management. From the preliminary analysis of future research tendencies, ten possibilities of study topics were developed; and due to that it was possible to assume that even though many studies of technological development are found, some insights can still be approached in a way that the practical implementation of solar systems photovoltaic is better used. This data was validated by the analysis performed with the Scimat scientific mapping software under a longitudinal structure, verifying the future tendencies researches mentioned previously.
This article presents the application of an expert system (ES) prototype as an intelligent tool for preliminary diagnostics of energy efficiency (EE) potential in Brazilian industrial plants and knowledge management (KM) in organizational environments, aimed especially to small-and medium-sized enterprises. The prototype provides the diagnostics rationale through a module for an explanation to support the decision making and provide insights regarding the adoption of EE actions. The knowledge base required by the prototype is built from the expertise and experience of a group of experts in EE and professionals from the industrial sector. The knowledge acquired from this interaction is represented in the form of rules, which are computationally implemented through a well-known tool for developing ES. Then, the resulting prototype is validated by the same group of multidisciplinary experts. Two different applications are presented to demonstrate the possibilities of EE improvement in industrial plants. These applications also show the ES as a valuable resource for organizational KM. In such a context, the ES creates a permanent corporate memory regarding EE, so that the access to this knowledge is independent on the availability of the human experts in the area. The ES also turns EE expertise into lasting value through sharing and retention actions, contributing to further improvements and processes continuity.
Abstract: The paper aims to propose an Expert System to predict the failure of onshore pipelines. Knowledge Management supports expertise sharing throughout the organization. The Expert System Prototype Model proposed is classified as Empirical Descriptive Research, and may support maintenance management. The findings evidence that Expert System proposed grounded in employee knowledge may be considered a promising solution to support Industry 4.0 implementation. The Expert System facilitates the decision-making of the experts so that the employees’ expertise can be better used in the implementation of Industry 4.0 and to face the new challenges related to the daily work in the organization. In this context, the Expert System can be considered as an innovative approach to manage maintenance processes and supporting reliable, consistent decisions during I.4 implementation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
