PurposeIn Bangladesh, the banking companies have huge opportunity to capture market share by properly understanding the critical aspect of customer satisfaction. This paper mainly focuses on young generation as target group to find out their differential perception. This study aims to identify most influencing factors and determine their influencing power on young customer's satisfaction and retention in mobile banking.Design/methodology/approachIt is a quantitative research with self-administered questionnaire as primary data collection instrument. Existing literature and published articles are reviewed as secondary data for hypothesis development. Out of 300 questionnaires, 279 usable questionnaires were returned and these collected data were analyzed by partial least square-structural equation model (PLS-SEM) with the use of Smart_PLS (V 327) to validate the model and test the hypothesis.FindingsThe findings of the research revealed that expense, responsiveness and relative advantage have significant influence while security and convenience have insignificant influence on satisfaction. But they are not directly related with loyalty although satisfaction and loyalty strongly related with each other.Originality/valueAlthough mobile banking is not a new issue in Bangladesh, the use of PLS_SEM to measure young user's satisfaction as the customer of mobile banking is not available in literature. So, this paper is an attempt to fill up this gap. In spite of having some limitation the research provides some practical implication for banks with better strategic insight to design mobile banking services to yield higher customer satisfaction.
Massive influx of Rohingya peoples into Bangladesh, fleeing a campaign of terror by the Myanmar military has had a profound impact on the communities of Cox’s Bazar. Some positive impacts include improvements in the provision of social services, increasing labor workforce, job placement of host community, growth in the number of small businesses and new livelihood opportunities. Though the Bangladesh Government & INGO is fulfilling all its humanitarian commitments, such as providing temporary shelter, foods and many more but it wants to begin repatriation as soon. However, there is a little probability that the refugees will be able to return to Myanmar in the short term due to political instability, security concerns and lack of interest by the Myanmar government in negotiating a deal. The research tries to find out what types of steps are useful if they are staying a long time in Bangladesh. The researcher found that Rohingya peoples want to work as a day laborer in the camp area, they want to start commerce in the camp for removing unemployment and agree that cooking is a source of earning. Highest average mean is 4.5690 express that most of the Rohingya peoples want education for seeking more opportunities.
Research aims: The primary aim of this study is to examine the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic during and after this pandemic on manufacturing sectors in Bangladesh. In the context mentioned above, some issues are then taken as the specific objectives.Design/Methodology/Approach: The study was conducted on the manufacturing sectors listed under Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). The study's target population was 42 manufacturing companies out of 153 listed on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). Four research variables were used to evaluate sample companies' financial performance and financial position. Documentary analysis, descriptive analysis, data normality test, and Wilcoxon Signed–Rank Test were employed to evaluate the hypotheses. The years of annual reports, 2018-2019 to 2020-2021, were utilized for the documentary analysis of sample companies' financial performance and financial position.Research findings: The study's conclusions demonstrated that this pandemic significantly impacted Bangladeshi companies' financial performance (essentially ROA and ROE) at a 5% significance level compared to before the pandemic. In addition, the recovery growth rate of financial performance of sample companies increased optimistically, and the growth of liquidity position of manufacturing companies was also seen in an advantageous position after the COVID-19 pandemic compared to during the COVID-19 pandemic based on Wilcoxon statistical test tool.Theoretical contribution/Originality: The findings of this study can be used as a source of relevant data by investors or future investors for their investment decisions shortly. The findings of this study will also assist the government in determining or preparing the appropriate tax incentive scheme for the impacted industries and whether the correct sector would profit from the tax incentive scheme.Practitioner/Policy implication: Considering that the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the import process of raw materials for production from China in specific and from other countries generally, the study advised the government of Bangladesh to boost its logistic and financial support for the local facility of raw materials.Research limitation/Implication: More extensive research is projected to be conducted on the recovery growth rate of financial performance in Bangladesh's sub-sector manufacturing industries.
