The representation from the Guildhall School of Music comprised twenty-five professors. Sir John Stainer was represented by his son, Mr. J. F. R. Stainer, and Mr. Santleys also prevented from attending, was represented by his son. Mr. Frederic H. Cowen was unable to attend owing to enforced absence from town. Brooke Hitching (chairman of the Music Committee of the Corporation) Professor J. F. Bridge, Mr. Alfred H. Littleton, and Mr. Hilton Carter (secretary of the Guildhall School of Music).
