Pig blood-lime mortar is one of the most representative formulations among the ancient Chinese organic-inorganic mortars. It was used primarily as binding material, lacquer and the ground layer of decorative oil paintings due to its good mechanical and waterproof preformance. Mortar in this work was fabricated according to the formulas of the ancient literature, and the mechanism of interaction between the key components of ancient mortar binding materials was analyzed via X-ray diffractometry. Results show that pig blood accelerates the formation of microstructure at early stage. A mechanism was suggested that biomineralization occurs during the carbonation of calcium hydroxide, where the pig blood functions as a template and controls the growth of calcium carbonate crystal.
Portland cement has low chemical and physical affinity for traditional building materials. This hinders the restoration of historical buildings and modern rustic architecture where blue bricks are used. Pig blood–lime mortar is one of the most important technological inventions in the Chinese architectural history. Mortar in this work was fabricated according to formulas of the literature, and some analyses were conducted for further understanding their microstructure. Environmental scanning electron microscopy was utilized to analyze mechanism of interaction between key components of ancient mortar bonding materials. Results show that pig blood accelerates the formation of microstructure at early stage. Pig blood plays the role of biological templates which regulates the growth of calcium carbonate crystal.
With the register detection problems in the rotary screen printing process, the curve matching strategy was proposed to get the position vector of off-pattern-topping, on the basis of the proposed rotary screen printing machine automatic register detection system based on machine vision. In order to ensure the capture positions of the target edge image and the standard edge image is the same, Fourier-Mellin curve matching was used to match them to eliminate the shooting error;then the curve matching method, based on the Fourier transform shift theorem, was used to match the well-tuned target edge image and the standard edge image to detect the register error. The matching strategy eliminated the error, and the computation is small. The experiments show that its detection accuracy and the computing speed can meet the requirements of the fabric register detection on line.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
