The box tree moth Cydalima perspectalis (Walker) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) is one of the most alien insects found in the Buxus areas of Georgia and World. Many methods have been used to control this pest up to now. But, the problem is still going on. In this study, insecticidal effects of the essential oils obtained from plants Artemisia absinthium L., Seriphidium santonicum (L.) Sojak, Seriphidium spicigerum (K.Koch) Poljakov, Cuminum cyminum L., Mentha pulegium L., Origanum majorana L., Origanum onites L., Origanum syriacum L., Origanum vulgare L., and Satureja hortensis L. on C.perspectalis were tested in laboratory conditions. In this context, larvae of the 2nd and 5th instars of C.perspectalis were exposed to essential oils at doses of 10, 15 and 20 μl/petri for 24, 48, 72 and 96 h. All of the essential oils used in the study caused mortality at different rates; the highest effect on 2nd and 5th instar larvae of C.perspectalis was obtained with the essential oil from O.onites with a mortality rate of 80.0-71.6%. In this study, the effects of ground and foliar applications of the NPK fertilizers in hazelnut orchards on the soil chemical and microbiological properties and hazelnut yield were investigated. The fertilization practicesses from ground were done two times using NPK (20:10:10 +trace elements) on March and May while the fertilization practices from leaf were done three times using NK (15:12 +trace elements) on May, June and July at six different hazelnut orchards located on Samegrelo, Guria and Adjara regions in Western Georgia in 2018. The alkaline characterized fertilizer applications from soil generally increased soil reaction (pH), nutrient contents and EC values in different magnitude depends on the soil characteristics of locations. The lowest soil pH (4,40) and EC (0,107 dS m-1) values showed the highest increment (10,7% and 77,6%, respectively) over the control. The basal soil respiration and Cmic values of all hazelnut orchards were generally increased by the NPK ferilization. Increasing soil pH and EC by the fertilization also increased CA and DHA activity. The mean values of percent increase in yield and yield parameters by the NPK fertilization were obtained as 8,3% in yield, 13,3% in shelled nut weight, 10,0% in kernel weight and 5,1% in percent kernel efficiency. The hazelnut yield value had significant positive correlation with soil pH (0,669*), EC (0,652*) and Cmic (0,620*) values. The foliar fertilization and improving the soil properties of hazelnut orchards by the application of alkaline characteristic NPK fertilizer from soil increased hazelnut yield and yield parameters compare with the farmer applications or control treatments. The increments in soil microbiological properties and nutrients are considered as a desirable result in terms of sustainable soil management and plant nutrition for hazelnut orchards.
The significance of organic plant growth stimulants, in the development of sustainable agriculture and increasing the fertility of degraded soils has sparked the interest of scientists and practitioners working in the field of agriculture in recent decades. On the world market, there are numerous plant growth biostimulants of various origins and compositions, as well as numerous research analyzing their impacts and roles. The study aimed to determine the novel biological activity of the new Georgian biostimulants Bactofert-L Blatt, Bactofert-L Boden, and Bactofert-L Si, which were developed by "Geofert" LTD. For this reason, Cucumber seedlings were obtained, and their growth intensity was studied according to root and stem length, leaf assimilation surface, and seedling mass under the action of 0.15 percent solution of biostimulants in laboratory conditions. Other biostimulators of Georgian and foreign origin available on the Georgian market were also included in the study to examine the biological activity of biopreparations.The research was carried out using the GOST-54221-2010 technique. In comparison to the control variant and other experimental stimulants, studies have shown that all three Georgian bio preparations - Bactofert-L Blatt, Bactofert-L Boden, and Bactofert-L Si - have strong biological activity. The best biostimulator for plant growth boosters has been determined as Bactofert-L Boden.
The migration of the radioisotopes -P 32 and S 35 from the soil to the tea plant (flowers) was studied. It is shown that their accumulation intensity in pollen sacs increases in proportion to the dose and reaches its maximum in the P 32 variant after using a 8.0 MBq / ml dose. The migration intensity was the lowest in the 2.0 MBq / ml variant (0.14-0.223 MBq / 100 mg). It is estimated that P 32 and S 35 have significantly affected the vitality of tea plant pollens through the anomalies of their development. After using 2.0 and 4.0 MBq / ml doses, the vitality of the pollen is reduced in proportion to the dose and the development anomalies increase. Particulalry, the viability of pollen decrease compared to the control group, but the frequency and range of development anomalies increases. These include the slow development of the plant or the acceleration of the development of the primary nucleus, polyspermia, undeveloped pollen tube, etc. The use of processed P 32 and S 35 tea pollens in hybridization significantly increases the frequency of new formations and results in variability in the domination of signs.
