Reviewing the development and history of sutures used in surgery is the goal of the study. Based on a review of the literature, we identified pertinent papers and surgical textbooks regarding suture for wound closure using computerised and manual database searches. The essay explores those earliest known applications of suture by Edwin Smith surgical papyrus and after that the name suture comes from Latin term was first used by Hippocrates in 400 BC. He used linen as suture material. The development of sutures made of natural materials is traced chronologically up to the present, when synthetic sutures are used in an increasing number of daily surgeries. In this millennium, long history of sutures, the early work of Edwin smith, Hippocrates, Sushruta, Galen, Albucasis, Avicenna Celsus, Paré, and Lister is recognised. Because the science and history of sutures are not well-known to the majority of surgeons. Suture needs a holistic review to understand current research and progress on this widely used product.

Punica granatum Linn is a holy fruit belongs to Punicaceae family and its uses are mentioned in various ancient texts and religious books. (It was lauded within the Old Testament of the Bible, Qur’aan, the Judaic Torah, and also the Babylonian Talmud as a sacred fruit conferring powers of fertility, abundance, and sensible luck). Pomegranate is used in various systems of medicine. The biological properties of extracts (hypoglycaemic activity, immunomodulatory activity, analgesic activity, anticancer activity,etc.) obtained from many components of pomegranate is according within the gift work. Attributed to such properties, the extracts are used in medical specialty, like within the hindrance of infection, inflammation, cholera, impotence among different applications. Phytochemical screening of the Punica granatum exposed that it contain anthocynin, flavonoides, alkaloids, tannins, triterpenes and phytosterols. This text in short reviews the ethanobotanical properties furthermore as HEALTHFUL uses with plant description. This is a trial to compile and document data on totally different side and its potential use. A lot of studies are required before the pharmacologic properties of Punica granatum can be utilised in medical care.

Background and Aim: A Non-healing ulcer is defined as an ulcer that does not heal after 6 weeks of conservative therapy. It is estimated that 1-2% of the people of the world experience a chronic wound during their lifetime. There is direct impact on the physical (amputation), psychological (depression) and social life of individual. Present study was carried out to assess the acclaimed effect of Unani formulation Marham-e-Ejaz in a patient. Material And Method: A female patient of Non-healing ulcer presented in the surgery OPD of our institute. She presented with a chief complaint of wound at the right elbow joint. The diagnosis made was post burn wound. The wound had a history of more than 9 month. The case was treated with Unani Topical formulation, Marham-e-Ejaz for 30 days. The formulation was applied after cleaning it with Normal saline, dressing was changed after every alternate day. The wound was assessed for pain, discharge, size and depth of wound at 0th, 15th, 30th day. Result: On the first day wound size was 2 square cm, depth 0.2 cm, and the floor filled with pale granulation tissue. On 30th day ulcer was completely healed with 100% epithelization. Conclusion: It was observed that there was significant healing of the ulcer. So, Marham-e-Ejaz has potential efficacy in healing Non-healing ulcer.
