The aim of this study was to determine the activities of Turkish women during lnvitation Daysregular occasions when women, on a reciprocal basis, host other women coming to their homes to spend time in each other's company. A questionnaire, administered in a face-to-face situation, was used to collect data from 379 women participating in lnvitation Days in Eskisehir province, Turkey. The results of analyzing the Likert-scale responses show highest statistical means for eating and drinking, conversation about current subjects and handwork and knitting, and lowest means for playing a musical instrument and wood painting. ANOVA results show significant differences between Turkish women's lnvitation Day leisure activities when socio-economic and demographic data and frequency of participation in lnvitation Days are considered.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between isokinetic strength of knee, vertical jump and anaerobic peak power. Twenty one healthy young male voluntarily participated in this study. Squat Jump (SJ), Counter Movement Jump (CMJ) and Wingate anaerobic power test were performed. Bilateral concentric isokinetic strength of the knee extensors/flexors was evaluated at 60, 120 and 180 • /s. CMJ height had a significant and moderate relationship with the isokinetic knee strength of extension measured at 120 and 180 • /s whereas SJ height was not correlated with any of the isokinetic strength parameters. Absolute, and less so normalized, power bore significant relationship to the isokinetic parameters. Hence the relevance of maximal isokinetic knee extension strength may be limited counter movement jumping
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
