By bonding two pieces of LC cell, a dual‐cell LCD can efficiently reduce light leakage and greatly increase contrast ration. Bonding optically clear adhesive (OCA) should provide enough adhesion strength and present no influence on optical performance. Based on von Mises criteria, the paper employs finite element simulation to conclude that the thickness of OCA should be larger than 0.15mm for a 65in dual‐cell LCD. With the help of LCD design software, it is found that the optical performance of a 65in dual‐cell LCD has no obvious changes when the OCA thickness is less than 0.35mm The paper introduces an effective method to help analyze OCA effect on both adhesion strength and optical performance.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
