This paper presents a new design method for notch IIR filters. The designed filters offer better transient frequency response for a given number of samples when compared to zero and projection initialization. Fine-tuning the positions of the poles to maximize the 3dB bandwidth of the transient frequency response for a given number of samples achieves the improvement. Second order filters were successfully designed for processing different numbers of samples and their performances were studied by considering their frequency responses.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
