The occurrence of epithelioma in cases of psoriasis hrts attracted some attention and Hartzell(2) has collected a series of cases. I n nearly all his cases, however, there was evidence of prolonged arsenical treatment and also signs of supposed arsenical keratosis present, and the epitheliomate which developed were of the squamous type. Hartzell was of opinion that in these cases the epithelioma was a result of arsenical treatment and not of psoriasis. Whitfield (3) reported a case of rodent ulcer OB the shoulder occurring in what appeared to be a psoriasis patch, but in neither his base nor mine does there seem to have been any sign of arsenical keratosis, although in my case the patient had taken considerable doses of arsenic. It is also noteworthy that neither radium nor X-rays appeared to have any curative action on the growth, nor did they relieve the pain, which was quite severe.
