Abstract. During the last decade ultrasonography has been extensively used in prenatal diagnosis. Identification of fetal abnormalities can make it possible to improve obstetric and neonatal care. This is a report of a case of fetal gastroschisis diagnosed in the 32th week of gestation. As a result of the prenatal diagnosis of the malformation, the fetus was delivered by cesarean section and the pediatric surgeon could operate upon the infant immediately after birth.
