Abstract. C18H~6GeO, Mr = 320.9, triclinic, Pi, a = 15.408 (6)

The heteronuclear clusters [M3(C0)11Hg]3 (M = Ru, 0 s ) have been prepared by the reaction of [M3H(CO)11]-with Hgl and Hg" salts; [ O S ~( C O ) ~, H ~] ~ has been characterised by an X-ray analysis and shown to contain a raft-like OsgHg3 metal framework.

Carbon-13 n.m.r. data not recorded. 6(H4-H7) complex multiplet ca. 7.45 p.p.m. j 6(NH) 9.33 p.p.m. Ir Major resonance. Weaker resonances not listed, assigned to unsymmetrical isomer also observed. At-10 "C. S(NH) not observed. At -30 "C, two broad resonances observed for H4,H5. Broad. " Complex multiplets for H4 and H5. ' In CD,Cl,; 13C at -20 "C, 'H at 0 "C. At -60 "C.
