Up to the present the Mayr equation has been used for studies of the interaction of high‐power arcs with electrical networks. In the present study the Mayr equation is generalized with the aid of response and relaxation functions. It is demonstrated that this concept reaches far beyond the Mayr equation. Thus, the problem of small inductive currents in LCR circuits including an arc is solved comprehensively. In this context, the influence of a delayed arc response is revealed and new effects are predicted.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
