The wood of Picea abies reacts to injuries with an alteration of the terpene fraction in the resin. This fact may play a role in the host-parasite interaction. The significance for resistance against wound infecting fungi is discussed.
The effect of monoterpenes on the mycelial growth of Fomes annosus (Fr.) Cke. Four monoterpenes, singly and in mixture, were tested for their effeet on the myeelial growth of Fomes annosus. Inhibition was eaused by all the substanees, the severity depending on material and eoncentration. The inhibition was not maintained over the entire study period.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
