3-Isoxazolols can be made in good yields from β-ketoesters or diketene and hydroxylamine, provided that pH is kept at about 10 throughout the reaction, and that the reaction mixture is quenched with an excess of strong mineral acid. This suppresses the formation of 5-isoxazolones, which are otherwise normally the main products of the reaction.

Aus dem 1,1‐Dimethyl‐allylalkohol (I) erhält man mit Tetrachlorkohlenstoff/Benzoylperoxid das Addukt (II), das zu (III) cyclisiert und‐ dann zum Dichlorvinylidemoxiran (IV) dehydrochloriert wird.

The binding energies of the T1(4f5,,) electrons in various thallium(1) salts of P-dicarbonyl compounds have been measured. The mean value is considered as the "group shift". The influence of the substituents on the binding energy of the core electrons in the thallium atom is of second order. No systematic influence on the binding energies of the T1(4fSi2) electrons is found from the substituents on the heterocyclic six-membered ring, formed by the ligand and the metal atom.
