The stem bark of Pterocarpus erinaceus was successively extracted with n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol using a soxhlet extractor. Antimicrobial screening was carried out on some pathogens and the result showed a broad spectrum of activity against Bacilus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Candida albican. Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of tannins, flavonoids, phenols and saponins.
