Posivon annihilation lineshape measurements are conducted on pure AI, AI-1.9 at.% Li and Al-(l2.0-12.5) at.% Li alloys. The recovery of each sample following quench andlor cold-work treatments is discussed in terms of vacancy migration and clustering. dislocation annealing and precipitation. The results indicate precipitation in both alloy concenmtions but no positmn trapping at dislocations. AU cold-worked alloys show large vacancy clustering effects, providing strong evidence of vacancy agglomeration at precipitates.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
