Effects of dietary Scutellaria baicalensis extract (SBE) on growth, feed utilization and challenge test of olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) were determined. Six hundred thirty fish averaging 5.0 g were distributed into 18, 180-L tanks. Six experimental diets were prepared in triplicate: SBE-0, SBE-0.5, SBE-1, SBE-2, SBE-3 and SBE-5 diets containing SBE at the concentrations of 0, 0.5, 1, 2, 3 and 5%, respectively. Fish were hand-fed to apparent satiation twice a day for 8 wks. At the end of 8-wk feeding trial, ten fish from each tank were infected by Edwardsiella tarda for challenge test. Survival and weight gain of fish were not affected by dietary concentrations of SBE. However, specific growth rate of fish fed the SBE-2 diet was higher than that of fish fed the SBE-0, SBE-1, SBE-3 and SBE-5 diets. Neither feed efficiency nor serum chemical composition of fish was affected by dietary concentrations of SBE. The cumulative mortality of fish fed the SBE-0 diet was 100% at 96 h after E. tarda infection, but 77 to 87% for fish fed the other diets. Dietary inclusion of 2% SBE appears to be recommendable to improve specific growth rate of fish and SBE had the potential to mitigate mortality of fish at E. tarda infection.
This work presents the influence of the variation of oxygen content in the ZnO films on their electrical characteristics. We applied the post-thermal annealing in N 2 and air ambient to control the oxygen content of ZnO films, which improved crystallinity and optical properties of ZnO films. The oxygen concentration was measured by Auger electron spectroscopy and the electrical characteristics were obtained by Hall measurement in the van der Pauw configuration and transmission line method. As result, it was shown that the electron concentration varies from 10 16 to 10 21 /cm 3 , while the resistivity from 10 -3 to tens ohm-cm with respect to Zn/O concentration ratio.
In this paper, lateral controllers are designed for the automatic steering of vehicles. The vehicle dynamics is derived for lateral motions of highway driving. To cope with various uncertainties, robust control synthesis using H 2 -í methodology is presented for a car moving along a curved path. A controller reduction technique is also introduced for implementation. The simulation tests reveal that the resulting lateral controller possesses the inherent advantages that are robust to mixed realcomplex uncertainties for typical driving manoeuvres. Finally, it can be concluded that the proposed control approach can signi cantly improve the stability and performance of an active car steering system.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
