-, Triand Tetracyclic Condensed Pyrimidines. -With a view to developing novel drugs with a better safety profile various kinds of novel compounds such as (III), (VI), (IX), (XI), and (XIV) are prepared. The antiinflammatory activity of (III) is comparable to that of indomethacin without gastric ulceration. (IXa) exerts good activity but induces gastric ulcers whereas (IXb) and (IXc) show moderate activity without ulceration. Among the tetracyclic compounds (XI) exhibits the highest potency and safety profile.-(AMIN, K. M.; HANNA*, M. M.; ABO-YOUSSEF, H. E.; GEORGE, R. F.; Eur.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
