Objective: Photon-induced photoacoustic streaming (PIPS) with pineapple peel extract (PPE) and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) as a final endodontic irrigant on the push-out bond strength (PBS) of root filling material to conventional irrigation NaOCl with EDTA.
Methods: An in vitro study at Dar Al Uloom University was conducted over three months. Root canal preparation was performed. Based on final irrigation, all the specimens were divided randomly into four groups (n=10) Group 1: 2.25% NaOCl+ 17% EDTA (control), Group-2: 2.25% NaOCl+PIPS + 6.25% PPE, Group-3: 2.25% NaOCl+PIPS + 17% EDTA, Group-4: 2.25% NaOCl + 6.25% PPE. Canals were obturated and sealed with AH Plus sealer. Root sectioning was performed at 1mm thickness and PBS testing was performed using the universal testing machine. The debonded samples were analyzed for failure mode. ANOVA compared the means and standard deviations (SD) of all investigated group. Assessment of multiple comparisons was performed using Tukey’s post hoc test.
Results: The maximum PBS was demonstrated by the coronal section of Group-2 (2.25%NaOCl +PIPS+6.25%PPE) specimens (8.21±0.81MPa). The apical section of Group-1 (2.25% NaOCl+17% EDTA) specimens demonstrated minimum bond strength (2.80±0.18 MPa). The intergroup comparison revealed that Group-3 (2.25% NaOCl +PIPS +17% EDTA) and Group-2 demonstrated comparable outcomes (p>0.05). Group-4 (2.25% NaOCl +6.25% PPE) specimens established significantly lower values than Group-3 and Group-4 (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Photon-induced photoacoustic streaming with pineapple peel extract and EDTA demonstrated better bond strength of root canal sealer and have the potential to be used as the final irrigant.

Endodontic intervention in necrotic immature permanent teeth is usually a clinical challenge. With appropriate case selection and optimal disinfection, regenerative endodontic procedure (REP) can be effective and a desirable result can be obtained. In this report, an immature necrotic mandibular second molar had been treated by REP in two visits. In the first visit, a nonsetting calcium hydroxide was used as intracanal medication after irrigation with 1.5% (NaOCl). In the second visit, blood clots were created in the root canals. MTA was placed over the blood clots and the tooth was restored with a composite filling and stainless-steel crown. A clinical and radiographic follow up was performed for three years where the tooth was deemed a symptomatic with a complete root formation.
Push-out bond strength (POBS) and failure analysis of gutta-percha and Martens hardness (MH) of canal dentin sealed with Bio-ceramic sealer (BCS). Specimens underwent endodontic treatment. Based on the method of disinfectants, specimens were classified into 4 groups. Group 1:5.25% NaOCl+Q-mix,
group 2:ECYL+Q-mix, group 3:LGE+Q-mix, and group 4:RBP+Q-mix. Before obturation MH was assessed using a microhardness tester. Canals were obturated, and sealed with Bio-Root RCS. Each root was cut horizontally in 2 mm thickness and placed under the indenter of the universal testing machine.
One-way analysis of variance and the Post Hoc Tukey test for group comparisons as statistical analysis. Samples with (5.25% NaOCl+Q-mix) displayed the highest bond integrity of BCS (8.00±0.24 MPa). The lowest POBS was demonstrated by the apical section of group 4 (RBP+Q-mix 2 in 1)
(4.10±0.94 MPa) specimens. Group 2 (ECYL+Q-mix) and group 3 (LGE+Q-mix) exhibited comparable outcomes of bond scores to group 1 specimens (p > 0.05). MH was significantly lower in group 4 compared to group 1, group 2, and group 3 (p <0.05). The bond strength of BCS
and MH of canal dentin is influenced by the type of irrigation.
