By lantcrri pictures the lecturer demonstrated a technique of operating, quite new in certain important points, which since the beginning of 1909 he has 89 times used for interpositio vesicovaginalis, partly as first assistant a t the Maternity IIospital in Christiania 1909Christiania -1911 and partly as a private practitioner in Christiania 1909-1920 (49 cases) -78 times the indication for this operation was a genital prolapse.In theory, this technique has some points of resemblance t o the ))EinnBliungsinterposition)), introduced by WERTHEIM some years later, 1913, but from a tcchnical point of view it is considerably sinipkr, and less hazardous, and although all the operated prolapscs were of the more and most pronounced kind, the lecturer's method of operating has rendered the best possible results, not one single case of recurrence having occurred.As a basis for his ncw tcchnique the lecturer first rendered an account of another series of 14 interpositions operated according to oldcr technique, 4 of which operations he performed personally (19O7-1908), according to SCHAUTA'S technique, and with 1 typical case of recurrence: -long, double-bent collum, rotated backwards and downwards, the uterus entirely dropped, the
