Tissue engineered (TE) bone scaffold is a three-dimensional porous structure that is implanted to allow for accelerated regeneration of bone tissue in the patient. This is achieved by providing the high internal surface area required for cell adhesion and consequent growth. Additive manufacturing techniques such as selective laser sintering (SLS) offer high tunability of scaffold properties. Previous studies have focussed on pre-designed scaffold architectures to achieve the desired pore characteristics through SLS. This study presents an alternate synthesis To Yitian Zhao, for your assistance in the sample preparation and image processing. Thank you for taking the time to teach me your methods, you saved me countless hours of trial and error.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
