Ascertaining fixation disparity with the MCH is unreliable. Accordingly, it appears dubious to correct a "vergence position of rest" on the basis of the MCH.

Subjective tests for fixation disparity, even those with a fusionable fixation target, do not correctly indicate the vergence position of the eyes under natural viewing conditions.
