A new concept of a vertical in-line deposition machine for large area white OLED production has been developed. The machine concept and linear evaporation source designed for up to Gen 4 substrates resulted in material utilization of > 50 %. A vacuum handling and alignment system for shadow masks has been developed.
Manufacturing of Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLED) forlighting is still some distance from the industry recognized cost target of 100 € /m². Within the government funded Light In-Line (LILi) project, a team of material supplier, machine manufacturers and basic researchers have investigated potential ways to reduce OLED manufacturing costs. The concept developed within the LILi-project shows that a competitive cost structure can now be reached.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
