In the search for novel peptides that inhibit the angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE), porcine skeletal troponin was hydrolyzed with pepsin, and the products were subjected to various types of chromatography to isolate active peptides. Glu-Lys-Glu-Arg-Glu-Arg-Gln (EKERERQ) and Lys-Arg-Gln-Lys-Tyr-Asp-Ile (KRQKYDI) were identified as active peptides, and their 50% inhibitory concentrations were found to be 552.5 and 26.2 microM, respectively. These are novel ACE inhibitory peptides, and the activity of KRQKYDI was the strongest among previously reported troponin-originated peptides. KRQKYDI was slowly hydrolyzed by treatment with ACE, and kinetic studies indicated that this peptide was a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme. When KRQKYDI was administered orally to spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) at a dose of 10 mg/kg, a temporary antihypertensive activity was observed at 3 and 6 h after administration.
The Indonesian government manages the health and environment of students through the post-Islamic boarding school program. However, it has not run optimally due to students' lack of knowledge and literacy on personal and environmental sanitation. This study identified the knowledge about an environmental-based sanitation approach among students at boarding schools. The study was conducted in October 2021 using the principle of the pre-post test method based on an intervention study. The students who participated in this study were 70 female students of Junior and Senior High School levels. The students were given practical training regarding the concept and benefits of 'clean and healthy living behavior' (CHLB), infectious skin diseases, the status of waste management, and health and environmental issues resulting from burning waste. The statistical analysis uses Chi-square descriptive analysis. There was an increase in the post-test results compared to the pre-test by 5% for students' understanding of the definition of CHLB and 60% for students' understanding of air pollution reduction efforts from the students' point of view. The students understand learning environment-based sanitation through practical intervention.
Demodecosis is a skin disease caused by mites Demodex sp. The mites can cause itching and made scratching reflex and made skin damage or wound. Wound is a damage conditions in the skin tissues. Wound healing works well
Background: Subclinical mastitis prevalence data in Bogor Regency is still lacking in every farm. It is important to calculate the prevalence and evaluation of the causative factors for subclinical mastitis in dairy cows to maintain the quality and quantity of milk production and determine the most appropriate control. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe Subclinical Mastitis Prevalence on Small Scale Dairy Farming in Bogor. Method: The data collection was carried out by determining 126 dairy cows as an individual sample using simple random sampling. Sample testing was performed using the California Mastitis Test (CMT). Results: The results showed that the prevalence of subclinical mastitis in the farm area was still very high at 82.5% with the results of 104 positive and 22 negative. Conclusion: The causes of subclinical mastitis are sanitation and poor hygiene in the implementation of milking.
