Through the ages, the oral route is most preferred route for administration of medicine. There are cases where olfaction is necessary such as in children, coma patients and was well recognized by Hahnemann and advised patients to smell in many conditions [1] . Drug administered by this route generally work quickly [2] . The olfactory experience is subjective and the olfactory nerves are special [3,4] . The volunteers were randomly selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, divided into 2 groups of oral and olfaction of 15 matched patients. Repetition was done according to the need of patient and potency of remedy was based on totality of symptoms and susceptibility. Time taken for action of medicine and improvement of condition was taken into consideration and recorded for matching. The data obtained was analyzed statistically. The results obtained thus illustrates the benefit of olfaction over oral route of administration of remedy.
Hypertension is emerging as a threat due to modern sedentary life style. This study is to analyze and evaluate the action of Rauwolfia serpentina Ѳ, 6C and 30C on blood pressure in relation to time span. Selection of 100 volunteers was done based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and randomly divided into 4 groups of 25. The normal blood pressure was first observed and water dose of placebo and medicine was administered. 10 drops of rectified spirit, Ѳ, 6, and 30 was added in 1 glass of water for control, Ѳ, 6 and 30 groups respectively. After the administration, the blood pressure was recorded mechanically every 30 minutes for 3 hours using sphygmomanometer. The readings were tabulated and analyzed using MANOVA. It was observed that there was a significant decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in case of Rauwolfia serpentina Ѳ and Rauwolfia serpentina 30.
