THE vapor pressures of pure perfluoro-n-butane, perfluoromethylcyclohexane, perfluorodimethylcyclohexane, and perfluoro-n-heptane were determined.Heats and entropies of vaporization were calculated.Critical constants of perfluoro-n-butane, perfluoro-n-heptane, and perfluoromethylcyclohexane were evaluated, and boiling points, densities, refractive indices, surface tensions, and viscosities are given for a number of pure fluorocarbons. The behavior of some fluorocarbons towards hydrolysis was also studied.AFTER the preparation of a number of pure fluorocarbons by the method of synthesis described in previous papers of the current series (1), a demand for the determination of some of their
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
