This research aims to classify the interpersonal meaning in Joe Biden’s victory speech. It is an interesting phenomenon because by revealing the interpersonal meaning, people can be assisted to be successful in communication. The researchers used a qualitative research design to answer the research question and chose content analysis since the results of data analysis were in descriptive phenomena, such as words, clauses, and utterances. The research findings showed that mood elements: found 174 subjects and 176 finites. Meanwhile, residue elements found 120 predicators, 133 complements, 9 mood adjuncts, 71 circumstantial adjuncts, 2 comment adjuncts, and 54 conjunctive adjuncts. In addition, the speech function identified 162 Statements, 4 Questions, and 11 Commands. Thus, it is concluded that Joe Biden tended to use finites, in contrast with comment adjuncts, and Statements, in contrast with questions (only 4 questions were found in his speech). This study also showed that the speaker was greatly assisted by using interpersonal meaning to make a good speech.
The research conducted in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year aims to see how the influence of different learning strategies on the learning results of eighth-grade students of State Junior High School 4 Medan on vibration and wave material. This study used true experimental research with a pretest posttest control group design. The population used in this study was class VIII of State Junior High School 4 Medan as a whole consisting of 346 people. The sample of this study was class VIII-2 as the experimental class and VIII-3 as the control class selected using the cluster random sampling technique. To find out student learning results, multiple-choice questions with a total of 20 items have been previously tested for validity, reliability, difficulty, and discrimination. The learning results of the two classes were tested for normality with the Lilliefors test and the homogeneity test using the F test. Then a one-sided t-test was carried out for = 0.05, obtained tcount = 2.07 > ttable = 1.6697. As for the regression test obtained = 15.79 + 0.78X. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is an influence of differentiation learning strategies on the learning results of grade VIII students of State Junior High School 4 Medan.
Songs is one of the most popular creations of human language, but linguistic study of this medium is still limited. One popular trend is to study the slangs in songs, but previous studies often used a single song or albums with little data, thus this study aims to explore the word formation of slangs in a pop album known for its numerous slangs in each song, namely the album Heaven & Hell by Ava Max. This study is descriptive qualitative research. The data is the lyrics of the 15 songs of the album which were analysed with content analysis to identify the slang word formation processes. Of the total 545 slangs, results found five types of processes: contraction, shortening, blending, clipping and compounding. Contraction is the most dominant type by a huge margin (77%), which is significantly different with the majority of previous studies’ conclusion that clipping is the most dominant type. This study offers a new insight by extending the amount of data. Similar studies in the past have mostly conducted this study on less than 200 data of slangs in a single song or a selection of a few songs in an album, while this study included all 15 songs in an album to obtain more than 500 data and found the pattern of dominant types of slang word formation process to be different than what has been reported over the years.
One of the obstacles to student learning is monotonous learning which makes students inactive and feeling bored so that it affects the achievement of students' cognitive, affective and psychomotor abilities. The purpose of this Community Service activity is to provide free tutoring assistance to students of SD Karya Bhakti Medan Helvetia and also as a means for students to channel their knowledge and concern for children who are undergoing a period of online learning and limited face-to-face learning. This Community Service activity is carried out using the methods of preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Tutoring is carried out using the PAKEM learning model (Active, Creative, Effective, and Fun Learning), so that elementary school students feel more comfortable and less tense in participating in tutoring activities. The results and outcomes achieved are that the tutoring activities carried out can help parents who cannot accompany their children in participating in online learning and also to increase the learning motivation of students at Karya Bhakti Elementary School Medan Helvetia. In addition, parents/guardians of students are grateful for the improvement in their children's academic achievement at school after participating in this tutoring activity. This is because after attending tutoring, students become more enthusiastic in doing school assignments (PR) well and there are no neglected assignments because there is someone who guides them so that students' understanding of the subject matter at school increases with the repetition of the material provided. by tutors (teachers).
Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi terhadap hasil belajar siswa di SMP N 2 Manduamas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode eskperimen yang diterapkan kepada peserta didik yang menjadi subjek dalam penelitian ini. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII SMP N 2 Manduamas yang berjumlah 60 orang yaitu kelas VIIIA sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIIIB sebagai kelas kontrol. Untuk mengetahui hasil belajar peserta didik digunakan instrumen berbentuk tes pilihan ganda yang berjumlah 20 soal. Sebelum diberikan perlakuan kepada kedua kelas, hasil rata-rata skor pretest eksperimen 38,67 dan untuk hasil pretest kelas kontrol 34,50. Setelah diberikan perlakuan dengan strategi pembelajaran yang berbeda maka diperoleh hasil rata-rata skor posttest kelas eksperimen 65,67 dan untuk posttest kelas kontrol 58,33. Hasil uji prasyarat data pretest dan posttest menyatakan bahwa sampel berdistribusi normal dan homogen yang telah diuji dengan uji Liliefors menggunakan SPSS. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji t satu pihak berbantuan SPSS. Hasil perhitungan yang diperoleh bahwa signifikansi t < 0,05 adalah (0,032 < 0,05). Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang telah didapatkan maka diperoleh analisis regresi linearnya yaitu Y = 22,494 + 0,655X. Persentase peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik sebesar 12,58%. Dari hasil perhitungan tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas VIII SMP N 2 Manduamas.
