Pneumothorax frequently occurred and placement of a chest tube was occasionally required for pneumothorax after CT fluoroscopy-guided lung biopsy. To reduce the risk of pneumothorax necessitating chest tube placement, physicians should adopt the shortest needle path to the lesion.

Pneumothorax and pleural effusion can occur after RF ablation in patients with lung tumors, and chest tube placement for pneumothorax is sometimes required.

Our localization method assured a consistent quality of resection regardless of the lesion characteristics and a reasonable prognosis for patients with primary lung cancer. The short hook wire and suture system provides acceptable utility in thoracoscopic surgery.
