Background: To slow the increasing global spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, appropriate disinfection techniques are required. Ultraviolet radianon (UV) has a well-known antiviral effect. But measurements on the radiation dose necessary to inactivate SARS-CoV-2 have not been pub- lished so far. Methods: Coronavirus inactivation experiments with ultraviolet light performed in the past were evaluated to determine the UV radiation dose required for a 90% virus reduction. This analysis is based on the fact that all coronaviruses have a similar structure and similar RNA strand length. Results: The available data reveals large variations, which are apparently not caused by the coronaviruses but by the experimental conditions selected. If these are excluded as far as possible, it appears that coronaviruses are very UV sensitive. The upper limit determined for the log-reduction dose (90% reduction) is approximately 10.6 mJ/cm2 (median), while the true value is probably only 3.7 mJ/cm2 (median). Conclusion: Since coronaviruses do not differ structurally to any great exent, the SARS-CoV-2 virus – as well as possible future mutations – will very likely be highly UV sensitive, so that common UV disinfection procedures will inactivate the new SARS-CoV-2 virus without any further modification.
Introduction: An accumulation of Cerebrospinal fluid in subdural spaces is known as subdural hygroma. It is encountered in all age-groups but overall, most common in elderly. The exact pathogenesis of Subdural Hygroma is still unclear. Presentation of Case: A 03 months old female child was brought to Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital, Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha, Maharashtra, India on date 02/10/2020 with the complaints of breathing difficulty, elevated body temperature, excessive enlargement of head with bulged and tense fontanel, high pitch shrill cry, restlessness, nausea and vomiting. On physical examination, it is found that head circumference was 44 cm, head size was enlarged, bulged anterior fontanel, angular cheilitis, pale conjunctiva as well as peripheral cyanosis were present. The child was diagnosed at birth and child was brought to Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital, Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha for surgical management of subdural hygroma. Intervention: The treatment of patients was started immediately after admission.Burr-Hole Evacuation was done on 4th October 2020 and the patient was discharged on 08th October 2020. Conclusion: In this report, we mainly focus on expert surgical management and excellent nursing care helped in managing the complicated case very nicely. The patient response was positive to conservative and nursing management. The patient was discharged without postoperative complications and satisfactory with recovery.
Introduction: Burkitt lymphoma is highly metastatic active malignant B- cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma characterized by translocation and deregulation of the d- MYC gene on chromosome no.8 on DNA strand. Background: Burkitt lymphoma (BL) accounts for 30–50% of all peadiatric lymphomas, and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is the fourth most common malignant tumor in children. In the sex distribution, there was a male predominance, especially among children Case Presentation: A 12 year old female child was brought to Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital, Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha, Maharashtra, India on date 12/01/2020 with complaints of breathlessness since 5 days, high grade fever since 10 days and retrosternal chest pain since 10- 15 days along with anorexia. The patient had a complete blood count, which revealed that his hemoglobin percent, total red blood count, hematocrit and Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin were all low. Pleural Fluid cytology analysis, Virology investigation, CECT Chest and Cytopathological Examination (USG guided FNAC) done from left axillary lymph node were all performed for diagnostic purposes. The patient was diagnosed as Burkitt Lymphoma after comprehensive examinations. He was treated Tab. Tablet Augmentin, Tab. Pantoprazole, Tab. Prednisolone, Tab. Brufen, and Tab. Emset, Syrup Gelusil, Injection Cyclophosphamide and Injection Vincristine as well as nursing care was provided based on his needs. Conclusion: Patient showed spontaneous recovery.
COVID 19 (Coronavirus 2019) is an infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was first discovered in December 2019 in Wuhan, Hubei, China and resulted in an ongoing pandemic. It has put the world on a crisis footing and children could be the hidden victim of the pandemic. Due to this pandemic, the impact on children is severe. Children may be more vulnerable due to school closures, lockdowns and other stressors. Access to a computer and the internet at home could determine whether education comes to a halt or if children can continue to learn outside of the classroom. And also raising the cases of malnutrition, hunger and may suffer from extended ill-consequences of this pandemic, such as child labor, child trafficking, child marriage, sexual exploitation and death etc. soap and running water may make the difference between whether children get sick or not. School closure, lack of outdoor activity, aberrant dietary and sleeping habits are likely to disrupt children's usual lifestyle and can potentially promote monotony, distress, impatience, annoyance and varied neuropsychiatric manifestations. Incidences of domestic violence, child abuse, adulterated online contents are on the rise. The COVID-19 pandemic is potentially catastrophic for many children around the world. For children caught at the apex of this crisis, there is a genuine prospect that its effects will permanently alter their lives.
Introduction: Among Cyanotic cardiac diseases, Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection is the only condition involving venous system malformation. Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection is a rare congenital anomaly in which all 4 pulmonary veins have no direct communication with the left atrium. Background: Almost one in a hundred newborn babies worldwide is affected by congenital heart disease. TAPVC is approximately 7-9 per 100,000 live births and it accounts for about 0.7- 1.5% of all congenital heart diseases. Congenital cardiac defects are the most common congenital anomalies in live births as well as the main cause of childhood Motability and Morbidity in the developed nations. Presentation of Case: A 5-month-old male child was admitted to ‘Sri Satya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India’ on date 1 February 2021 with complaints of excessive sweating on the head while feeding, Tachypnoea, cyanosis and Lower Respiratory Tract infection. The child was diagnosed at 2 months of age and the child was brought to Sri Satya Sai Hospital for surgical management of TAPVC. Interventions: The treatment of patients was started immediately after admission. The surgical repair of obstructive mixed TAPV and PDA ligation was done under general anesthesia on date 02 February 2021. Conclusion: In this report, we mainly focus on expert surgical management and excellent nursing care helped in managing the complicated case very nicely. The patient response was positive to conservative and nursing management. The patient was discharged without postoperative complications and satisfactory with recovery.
