We investigated the impact of polymorphisms in host innate immunoregulatory genes on the development of infectious complications after liver transplantation (LT). 3%), of which one third was methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. No differences were observed in the incidence of fungal infections or in cytomegalovirus infections with respect to the three gene polymorphisms. Our findings indicate that FcgR SNPs are predisposing factors for BSI and can predict mortality after LT. This study provides a foundation for further prospective studies on a larger scale.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
