A new nonlinear optical material, N-(2,4-dinitrophenyl)-1-chloro-3-phenyl-2-propanamine was prepared. A
molecular hyperpolarizability value of 7.26×10-30 esu was obtained through electric-field-induced
second-harmonic (EFISH) measurement. The crystal structure and the linear and the nonlinear optical properties were
examined. Relatively low values of the effective nonlinear optical coefficient determined by angle-tuned SHG
experiments and Maker fringe experiments at 1064 nm were discussed with respect to the crystal structure.
Fundamental data relating to Ziman pseudo-atoms (i.e. ions plus associated screenmg charges) are obtained for the alkali and noble metal ions, phase shifts being evaluated as functions of angular momentum and energy. In particular, the especially important parameters qi(kF) and ( k a q l j a k )~ are tabulated. These provide the basis for a comprehensive and systematic treatment of transport properties and interatomic forces in pure metals and alloys at arbitrary pressures. From the evidence of a number of applications already made, as well as by comparison, where overlap occurs, with the best calculations hitherto performed, it would appear that our results are reliable.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
