The routing and wavelength assignment optimization problem in multi-domain WSON is researched. An inter-domain routing optimization algorithm based on improved ant colony algorithm is proposed. The proposed algorithm can achieve the routing optimization under multi-constraint condition, and can acquire the working and backup paths at one time for network survivability as well.Simulation experiments indicate that the algorithm can reduce the congestion degree of the networks and enhance the blocking performance of routing calculation for traffic requests when the interdomain path protection is required.
In this paper, a new contention avoidance scheme called WSA (wavelength-weight statIstIc assignment) has been proposed for distributed lightpath establishment in PCE-based Wavelength-switched Optical Networks (WSON). WSA assigns a wavelength-weight to denote the concurrent reservation probability and source node can select several preferable wavelengths according to the weight with assistance of the Path Computation Element (PCE). A new three-level QoS shunt scheme (TQS) is used in intermediate node to deal with high wavelength weight, and the destination assigns the least collision probability wavelength according to the weight statistic. Simulations are conducted to compare WSA with SIR and DIR. The results show that WSA performs better in total blocking than the others under various traffic loads.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
