This paper used the entropy method to measure the comprehensive level of China’s urban regional digital economy development and measured the transformation and upgrading of industrial structures from both quantitative and qualitative dimensions. Based on the panel data of 271 prefecture-level cities in China from 2011 to 2018, this paper investigated the impact and transmission mechanisms of digital economy development on the transformation and upgrading of industrial structures through a fixed effects model, mediating effect model, and threshold regression model. The results show the following: First, the development of the digital economy has a significant positive role in promoting the quantity and quality of the upgrading of industrial structures, and has a stronger explanatory power for the quality of the upgrading of industrial structures. Second, the mechanism analysis shows that the digital economy can accelerate the transformation and upgrading of industrial structures by stimulating the level of regional innovation. Third, the analysis of the threshold regression model shows that the impact of the digital economy on the upgrading of industrial structures has nonlinear characteristics. Fourth, the impact of the digital economy on the upgrading of industrial structures has regional heterogeneity. It has the greatest impact in the western region, followed by the central region and the eastern region.
Abstract-China has the largest floating population in the world, whose employment situation is not optimistic, and the employment stability is poor. From the view of labor search theory, the employee may switch his job to get higher income by searching in the labor market; from the view of human capital theory, stable employment can improve the level of human capital and thus increase their income for workers. What is the impact of the employment stability on income of the floating population in the PRD? This paper found that the stable employment had positive impact on income of floating population through the data of field research in Dongguan by the quantile regression; and put forward some corresponding policy suggestions based on the this conclusion.
The institutional environment not only has a great impact on economic development but also has a certain impact on labor agglomeration. This paper explains the phenomenon of labor agglomeration from the perspective of the labor market institutional environment. Taking the labor market institutional environment including social contract environment and labor contract environment as the premise, it is considered that a good labor institutional market can promote labor agglomeration and technological progress can stimulate the agglomeration of highly-skilled talents through theoretical analysis. Based on the provincial panel data from 2001 to 2017, the empirical analysis is conducted to verify the relevant factors through the dynamic spatial Durbin model. The paper finally puts forward some policy suggestions to maintain a good institutional environment of the labor market, including that the local government should continue to improve the labor dispute settlement system, strengthen the protection of labor rights and interests, and enhance the institutional environment of the regional labor market.
