CSOT has successfully developed 110‐inch LCD TV that is the largest LCD TV. It integrates many innovations in LCD technology, containing 50000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 1000 nits ultra high brightness, high‐saturated color reproduction with NTSC 92% and 288 areas local dimming backlight. Moreover, Shutter‐glasses 3D function has also been achieved
A method to evaluate the visual effect of time-sequential 3D is established. The characteristic of the simulation is to apply different cross-talk values on each grey level according to LC response speed. Moreover, we made an experiment to compare the stereoscopic effect and annoyance of motion pictures with several settings of LC speed. The experiment result shows that the condition of LC response time with 10% to 90% Ton 8ms and 90% to 10% Toff 5ms has similar performance to that of the extremely-fast LC, and is acceptable to 90% of the 27 assessors.
China Star has demonstrated a 110‐in. LCD TV that has an outstanding dynamic contrast ratio of 50000:1, ultra‐high brightness of 1000 nits, high‐saturated color reproduction, and a 288‐zone local‐dimming backlight. Manufacturing a high‐definition high‐quality TV in such a large size brings with it special manufacturing challenges.
