We completed chloroplast genome of
Douinia plicata
(Lindb.) Konstant. & Vilnet., presenting morphological features including denticulate leaf margin, verrucose cuticle on base of leaves, and 80–100° keel angle with stem at the midleaf. It is 118,797 bp long (GC ratio is 33.9%) and has four subregions: 81,142 bp of large single copy (31.9%) and 19,611 bp of small single copy (31.0%) regions are separated by 9,017 bp of inverted repeat (46.3%) regions including 130 genes (86 protein-coding genes, eight rRNAs, and 36 tRNAs). Phylogenetic trees show
D. plicata
is clustered with two

Jeju Island, due to its position at the southern tip of the Korean Peninsula in Northeast Asia, is a on the unique enclave of the many southern elements in the area and features a mixture of subtropical, temperate, boreal, and arctomontane taxa. Among the arctomontane species recorded in this study was Anthelia juratzkana; among the temperate species was Dactyloradula brunnea, and subtropical species were Cavicularia densa, Pallavicinia subciliata, Wiesnerella denudata, and Megaceros flagellaris. A valuable species as first recorded for the Jeju Island is Cryptocoleopsis imbricata. The distribution patterns of these species suggest that the flora of Jeju Island is a meeting place between boreal and subtropical floras. We recorded 222 taxa belonging to 45 families, 80 genera, 209 species, 9 subspecies, and 4 varieties. Among these, 86 species are reported as new to the flora of Jeju Island. A checklist based on a study of 1697 specimens is also provided.
We investigated the bryophyte flora of Taebaeksan Mountain National Park in Korea by conducting a total of ten field surveys from April of 2017 to October of 2019 at various mountainous sites in the park. During the surveys, we recorded 274 taxa belonging to 68 families, 143 genera, 267 species, 3 subspecies, and 4 varieties. Among these, 92 species were reported as new to the flora of the Taebaeksan Mountains. A checklist based on a study of 990 specimens is provided as well. The most remarkable species were Sphagnum capillifolium (Ehrh.) Hedw, Sphagnum girgensohnii Russow, Buxbaumia punctata P.-C. Chen et X.-J. Li, Pleuroziopsis ruthenica (Weinm.) Kindb., Ptilium crista-castrensis (Hedw.) De Not., and Douinia plicata (Lindb.) Konstant. et Vilnet.
We investigated the bryophyte flora of the Gayasan Mountain National Park in Korea by conducting 18 field surveys in from April of 2009 to November of 2016 at various sites on the mountains. During the surveys, we discovered 204 taxa comprising 57 families, 106 genera, 199 species, 2 subspecies, and 3 varieties. Among these, 145 species were reported as new to the flora of Gayasan Mountain. A checklist based on a study of 903 specimens is provided. The most notable species recorded during the surveys were the rare bryophytes Hattoria yakushimensis (Horik.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
