The possibility of using microwave radiation in combination with metallic nanoobjects for cancer therapy has been studied. The results of optical and atomic force investigations of nanostructured metallic films used for testing the methods of such a therapy have been presented. The size of metal clusters separated from the film by microwave pulses has been estimated. Possible mechanisms for the destruction of cancer cells by nanostructures affected by microwave radiation have been considered.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
