The paper presents the procedure and results of monitoring conducted by using a 3D measurement model, taking advantage of integrated surveying technologies developed for a building located within an activated landslide area. Geodynamic interactions within the building have resulted in a spatial deformation condition, leading to significant cracks of structure components and local basement floor upheavals. Conducted site research shows a reactivation of an old landslide form. To provide safe use conditions for the building, it was decided to monitor the structure and the area in its vicinity. Meeting this demand required developing an in-house monitoring system for the landslide form and the very structure. Measurements provided detailed information on the sizes and directions for the displacements of ground surface points and building structure points, as well as the dynamic properties of this phenomenon. Obtained results show the opportunity to use monitoring systems to acquire credible measurements data reflecting the real impact of ground landslide deformations on structures.
Abstract.A particularly important element in the assessment of the actual state of the threats which is caused by conducting the mining exploitation of seams bumping under the urban areas is to diagnose the condition of the land development after hard shocks. In the buildings, for which the impact of the mining activities, including the tremors, is not taken into account at the stage of design and formulation of the strength and use conditions, conclusions from the structure behaviour under the tremor influence are an essential part of the assessment of the possibility for transferring the further dynamic impacts. The use of conclusions from the in situ research has its role in anticipating the behaviour of the buildings in case of the forecast of the mining tremors effects in the regions of their impacts. These conclusions should also provide ground for the assumptions to the scope of the building prevention necessary to be taken in case of forecasting the tremors with big intensity. Based on the analysis of effects which occurred in the land development after the highenergy mining tremors, the elements of the dynamic resistance assessment for the buildings with traditional structure were discussed.
The notion of Integrated Territorial Investments (ITI) appears more and more frequently in contemporary regional development strategies. Formulating the main assumptions of ITI is a response to a growing need for a co-ordinated, multi-dimensional regional development suitable for the characteristics of a given area. Activities are mainly aimed at improving people’s quality of life with their significant participation. These activities include implementing the Sustainable development Goals (SDGs). Territorial investments include, among others, projects in areas where land and building use is governed not only by general regulations (Spatial Planning and Land Development Act) but also by separate legal acts. This issue also concerns areas with active mines and post-mining areas undergoing revitalization. For the areas specified above land development and in particular making building investments is subject to the requirements set forth in the Geological and Mining Law and in the general regulations. In practice this means that factors connected with the present and future mining impacts must be taken into consideration in planning the investment process. This article discusses the role of proper assessment of local geological conditions as well as the current and future mining situation in the context of proper planning and performance of the Integrated Territorial Investment programme and also in the context of implementing the SDGs. It also describes the technical and legislative factors which need to be taken into consideration in areas where mining is planned or where it took place in the past.
