The aim of this research was to study the financial feasibility of beef cattle business in Minahasa Regency. Primary and secondary were used as data sources. The former was obtained directly from interviews using questionnaires, and the latter was collected from related agencies and other relevant references. Sampling was done using purposive sampling based on the largest beef cattle population and at simple random sampling with a total of 120 respondents selected in research locations. Data were descriptively analyzed based on investment criteria. Overall results showed that the beef cattle business in Minahasa Regency is feasibly sustainable because all of the measured parameters have met investment criteria, with the break-even point at 25 ind yr−1 and income gain of IDR 334,069,889, IRR is 33.14% > bank interest rate, B/C Ratio > 1, and Payback Period is 1 year 9 months shorter than the project period of 3 years.
West Bolangitang became one of the central areas of livestock development in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Livestock are usually only kept and grazed under coconut trees, and consumes waste from food crops and even grass that grows wild under coconut trees. The research analyzed the potential of cattle development based on carrying capacity index of forages on coconut land. This research has been conducted using survey method, and data source is primary data. The sample villages were determined by purposive sampling, with 32 respondents. The research material is coconut land and cattle. Analysis of data used is the analysis of the carrying capacity index (IDD). The results showed that the District of West Bolangitang has a coconut land, 3,668 Ha, with a real population of 2,044 AU. PMSL value of 4,744.24, meaning that based on land resources in this district can still accommodate the population of cattle for the value of PMSL. Total feed requirement amounted to 2,330.16 tons with a value of the carrying capacity of 2.04. Based on result of the research, it can be concluded that population of cattle in West Bolangitang District can still be improved by utilizing the land under coconut tree. Suggestion is need introduction of superior forage in supporting the development of cattle farms.
ANALYSIS OF THE RENTABILITY LAYING CHICKEN HUSBANDRY BUSINESS FARM UD. TETEY PERMAI IN DIMEMBE DISTRICT OF MINAHASA UTARA REGENCY.The purpose of this study was to determine whether the laying chicken business of UD. Tetey Permai profitable or not. This study was carried out in laying chicken business UD. Tetey Permai in Dimembe District, North Minahasa regency on December 21, 2017 to January 31, 2018. Data collection is done through direct interviews using a questionnaire to the owners of farm companies and animal husbandry managers. The data taken is primary data and secondary data. Primary data is obtained directly from the management of UD Tetey Permai, secondary data is data obtained through government agencies related to research, namely District office and office of the Department Agriculture and Animal Husbandry. The data analysis model used is the analysis of rentability. Based on the results of the study it was known that the laying chicken business UD. Tetey Permai has been profitable. This is indicated by the value rentability (R) of 34% wich exceeds the BNI’s bank deposit rate of 6.25%. Keywords : Laying Chicken, Rentability
ABSTRAKKecamatan Kalawat merupakan salah satu kecamatan yang terletak di wilayah Kabupaten Minahasa Utara dengan luas wilayah sebesar 4.714 ha. Umumnya masyarakat Kecamatan Kalawat berprofesi sebagai petani. Populasi ternak sapi di Kecamatan Kalawat adalah sebesar 489 ekor yang tersebar di 12 desa. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah berapa besar usaha ternak sapi dapat memberikan kontribusi terhadap pendapatan petani peternak di Kecamatan Kalawat Kabupaten Minahasa Utara. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk megetahui berapa besar kontribusi usaha ternak sapi terhadap pendapatan petani di Kecamatan Kalawat Kabupaten Minahasa Utara. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Kalawat Kabupaten Minahasa Utara dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 30 orang. Waktu penelitian dan pengumpulan data selama 2 bulan. Data penelitian diperoleh dari 2 sumber yaitu data primer dan data sekunder. Metode penentuan sampel dilakukan secara Purposive Sampling dengan penentuan responden dilakukan secara Random Sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ternak sapi memberikan keuntungan terhadap pendapatan petani sebesar Rp.181.078.967. Adapun total pendapatan usaha tani maupun diluar usaha tani adalah sebesar Rp.1.017.128.467. Berdasarkan fakta ini maka kontribusi usaha ternak sapi terhadap pendapatan petani adalah sebesar 17,78%. The results in this study indicate that cattle provide benefits to farmers income by Rp.181.078.967. Total income of farm and out of farm amounted Rp.1.017.128.467. INTRODUCTION OF TECHNOLOGY IN SUPPORT FARMING OF DUCK IN PASLATEN VILLAGE DISTRICT OF KAKAS REGENCY OF MINAHASA.The purpose of raising ducks by members of the Kinakas Jaya group was to produce eggs and meat. The eggs produced were around 60-70 percent of the total number of duck members owned by group members. The low production and productivity of ducks causes low income received by group members and not continuous whereas the demand for duck products has increased from year to year. Duck farming in North Sulawesi has a very large development prospect in terms of the population that tends to increase every year. The problem with raising ducks by group members was still traditional and the availability of DOD was not continuous. Based on these problems, empowerment of group members was carried out, namely extension and introduction of hatching machines. The research was conducted with the aim to find out the extent of empowerment activities in supporting duck business in Paslaten Village, Kakas District. The research method used was a survey method. The sample location was Paslaten Village, which was determined by purposive sampling (a village with a group of duck farmers). Respondents were members of the Kinakas Jaya group who were empowered through the introduction of technology. The age of the respondents ranged from 42-50 years with junior high school level (37.5%) and high school 62.5%. Extension was done and responded well by group members. Furthermore, the process of hatching eggs was carried out by group members. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the technology was successfully adopted by group members, but the success rate of hatching eggs was still low.
