The global impact of climate change, with the potential to affect agriculture through changes in temperature, rainwater distribution and amount, leads to the need to develop integrated technologies that increase rain use efficiency and support soil and environmental quality, ensuring higher agricultural outputs with lower costs. Soil modeling in interrupted furrows is a very efficient rainwater harvesting system, but has not yet been scientifically assessed for the conditions in Southern Romania as the other soil working systems have been. For this purpose, a soil modeling device consisting of a frame with triangle for coupling to the tractor, wheels for adjusting and limiting the working depth, soil loosening knives, ridge ploughs and furrow compartmenting equipment was compared with the conventional technology for sunflower culture in two localities in Southern Romania: Crânguri in Giurgiu County and Mărculeşti in Calarasi County. The device for soil modeling in interrupted furrows for weeding crops provides a viable option that has positive effects on soil properties and ensures increased crop yields compared to conventional works as well as the opportunity to increase the efficiency of water recovery in agriculture by harvesting rainwater.
Jerusalem Artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus L.) is a technical plant that manages to adapt very well to unfriendly environments, even in polluted or poor in nutrients soils and may serve in the near future as an important raw material for the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries. Furthermore, the plant is growing rapidly, producing large amounts of biomass and offers the possibility to be harvested up to 2 times a year, therefore presents a high potential to be used in the field of biofuel production. The plant's capacity to multiply easily by developing small tubers in the soil, allowing the production of economically advantageous crops, can be considered an advantage for biofuel producers, however this feature might be a drawback for agricultural land owners considering the very invasive behavior. The present paper aim to assess two Jerusalem Artichokes crops established on marginal soils, assessing productivity and the extensive impact on the ecosystem, paying a special attention to plant invasiveness tendencies.
In our present paper we will try to illustrate, for the benefit of those directly involved such as players, teachers and game leaders - some aspects that, by defining new game and training concepts dedicated to juniors II, could prove essential to the progress and present development of volleyball.
Based on existing facts, we consider that our present research is necessary and modern at the same time, because of the evolution of volleyball as a sport, and due to the belief that our hypothesis has both theoretical value with consistent chances of generalization, and practical value with immediate applicability, too. Another argument would be the fact that finding adequate solutions for increasing defence efficiency could also lead to great results, since a proper defence strategy has, in most cases, a decisive influence upon the results at the end of the game.
Our present endeavour falls into the categories of volleyball theory and method, and we pledge to bring our modest contribution to the development of theoretical material useful to volleyball specialists, that could also help reinventing this particular sport discipline in our country.
"ABSTRACT. Independent studies suggest the possibility of prophylaxis of severe
forms of COVID-19 through moderate-intensity exercise. There is the fear that
intense exercise could increase the risk of the virus entering the cell, a determining
factor being hypoxia. As a result, in this paper we aimed to assess the heart rate and
oxygen saturation of the blood in the case of Kangoo Jumps and aerobic training at
home. Kangoo Jumps workouts practiced in such a way as to avoid in principle the
high intensity of the effort, do not produce transient hypoxia, not even in subjects
whose heart rate indicated an intense effort. Preliminary data show that aerobics
at home does not produce hypoxia in mature adults and the elderly, and heart rates
do not exceed the limit of moderate intensity; however, additional studies are
required for both categories of exercises under study."
