The tested tomato cultivars had been bred and adapted to environmental factors with regard to open field cultivation in Nonchernozem zone of Russia. Agriculturally valuable traits were studied in many regions: Astrakhan, Volgograd, Belgorod, Primorie krai, and also in Uzbekistan, Moldavia, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Ukraine, and Byelorussia. Results that had been analyzed provided information concerning the ecological cultivar sustainable adaptation and required biodiversity. Russian tomato cultivars that possessed high adaptation characteristics were tested for 2 years in open field conditions of Bulgaria and Russia.

The technical features and conditions for normalization of quality characteristics of tomato juice regarded as a human food have been elaborated without direct wringing and preliminary preheating of tomato fruits in presence of salt and sugar.

In north regions of Russia the breeding programs are manly focused on developing tomato cultivars with following characteristics: resistance to stresses (biotic, abiotic), high yield capacity, high quality output, high dry matter content and long storage ability of tomato fruits. Since 2007 in State Registry of Plant Breeding Achievements there are three cultivars Malinka, Rosinka, Unona bred at All-Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding and Seed Production that were included. Their high ecological plasticity provides a stable yield under any climatic condition of a year.

Ч еловеческий фактор, роль личности в истории… Не сомненно, Александр Васильевич Алпатьев, этот незаурядный ученый, генетик, биолог и селекционер, за мечательный педагог сыграл важную роль в отечественной сельскохозяйственной науке, он открыл целую эпоху в раз витии селекции и семеноводства пасленовых культур, за ложил их научные основы, что способствовало продвиже нию пасленовых культур далеко на север. Родился Александр Васильевич Алпатьев 12 сентября 1900 года в селе Грушевское Белокалитвинского района Ростовской области в крестьянской семье. Оставшись без отца в трехлетнем возрасте, в семье, где мама, Анна Тимо феевна одна воспитывала троих детей, он рано познал не легкий крестьянский труд и с детских лет полюбил природу родных донских степей. Уже тогда, помогая матери в её не лёгком крестьянском труде, он думал над тем, как сделать более урожайными растения, которые кормят человека.
