structure structure (solids and liquids) D 2000 -009Single Crystal Preparation and Crystal Structure of the Cu 2 Zn(Cd,Hg)SnSe 4 Compounds.-Single crystals of the title compounds are grown from a melt of the elements using a solution-fusion method.As revealed by powder XRD, Cu 2 ZnSnSe 4 , Cu 2 CdSnSe 4 , and Cu 2 HgSnSe 4 crystallize in the stannite structure in the space group I42m with Z = 16. The structures are derived from the zinc blende structure. The Se atoms form a close cubic packing in which the cations occupy half of the tetrahedral voids. -(OLEKSEYUK, I. D.; GULAY, L.
