Recording Problems, 2, Shpak st.Kiev UkraineDuring long time in the optical recording technology as recording media for information carriers, in the first place of WORM type, were widely used tellurium allys1 . In spite of high resolution, law recording energjr of information, high signal4o-noise iitio at information reproduction, the high toxicity of tellurium and its alloys raised a question of its substitution for other ecologically safety recording media which have not less high technical characteristics. As an alternative to recording media on the tellurium base can serve recording media built in the form of matrix structures in which a photo(termo)active component is included into the matrix!'2'We suppose that the most effective preparation method ofsuch media which provides the deposition on substiBtes of any form can be a dissociation method of organometallic compounds (OMC) .Depending on choise of OMC, atmosphere in which occurs its decomposition, additions and conditions ofprocess following there can be obtained by polimerization of OMC ligands in which is distributed a melal phase (metal-polymeric media) and an oxide matrix in which are implanted organic ligands changing its paraxnctersThe technology of metal-polymer films preparation and process of optical recording were described by us in previous worksThe gradient metal spreading was created by increasing the pulse amplitude of voltage discharge from 500 to 2000 V. The content of metal was increased in direction from substrate and was near substrate 040 at % and near free film surface up to 80 at %. The film composition was investigated by means of the layer4o-iayer Auger analysis using microscope JAMP-lO S.As starting materials for metal-polymeric recording media synthesis can be used alkyl compounds of 4, 5 groups metal, particularly of stibium and tin by plasma-chemical decomposition ofwhich are formed metal-polymeric films. The comparative analysis ofRaman spectra of starting OMC s and prepared from them films showed the advent of new bonds of the type metal metal, carbon-carbon and the decrease of bonds quantity of the type caibon-carbon, metalligand. The action of focused Ia er radiation on such films leads to formation of microholes in the centre of irradiation region and on peripherial areas it leads to an additional OMC decomposition. Particularly, there is to be observed the decreasing oç peacks in Rarnan spectra which are characteristic to1 bonds in ligands CH3 (v=2300-3100 sni) and creation of peacks in the region 1800 2200 sin, which corresponds to new bonds C=C and C=O (Figi). The structure of metal-polymer films and conditions of their preparation have a considerable influence on the signal / noise ratio at reproduction of information. Studying the process of optical bit-by-bit information recording Sb-C films, prepared by dissociation of organometal stibium compounds in glow discharge plasma it was established that of the signal / noise ratio depends basically on following parameters: O-8194-1777.7/94/$6.oo SPIE Vol. 2429 Optical Memor...
