The shape of the lactation curve for 475 Turkish Holsteins was estimated by fitting a gamma function to daily milk yields from monthly recording of 754 lactations. Lactation curve traits that were analyzed included a scaling factor associated with yield at the beginning of lactation, the inclining and declining slopes before and after peak yield, DIM at peak yield, and peak and lactation yields. Persistency of lactation yield was measured from 1) the gamma function, 2) the coefficient of variation for monthly test-day yields, and 3) the ratio of lactation yield to peak yield. The log-transformed gamma function explained 71% of variation in daily yield. Effects of farm operation, calving year, calving season, parity, and service period were significant for the various lactation curve traits. Peak and lactation yields were higher for cows that calved in fall and winter, and persistency was higher for cows that calved in summer and fall. Peak and lactation yields were lower, but persistency was higher during first lactation. Repeatability estimates were moderate for peak (0.26) and lactation (0.34) yields and lower (0.06 to 0.20) for other lactation curve traits.
Objective: In this study, we aimed to compare [68Ga]FAPI PET/CT and [18F]FDG PET/CT imaging to detect lesions in multiple myeloma. Methods: A total of 14 patients with multiple myeloma who underwent [68Ga]FAPI PET/CT and [18F]FDG PET/CT imaging were included in this retrospective study. SUVmax values of [68Ga]FAPI and [18F]FDG were compared according to lesion locations. Also, lesion localization ability of both imaging methods was compared on the patient basis. Results: In 4 of 14 patients, [68Ga]FAPI PET/CT and [18F]FDG PET/CT have not detected any bone lesions. In 8 of the remaining 10 patients [18F]FDG PET/CT detected bone lesions but in this group, 6 patients showed more higher SUVmax values than [18F]FDG PET/CT in [68Ga]FAPI PET/CT.In contrast, 2 of 8 patients showed more higher SUVmax values than [68Ga]FAPI PET/CT in [18F]FDG PET/CT. Moreover, [68Ga]FAPI PET/CT detected bone lesions in two patients, which werenot detected by [18F]FDG PET/CT. Also, in five patients, [68Ga]FAPI PET/CT showed more bone lesions in comparison with[18F]FDG PET/CT. Only one patient, [18F]FDG PET/CT showed more bone lesions. Three extramedullary involvements were observed in the following locations: lung, presacral lymph node, and soft tissue mass lateral to the right maxillary sinus. Among these involvements, higher SUVmax values were observed in the lung and presacral lymph node with [68Ga]FAPI compared to [18F]FDG. However, the soft tissue mass showed a higher SUVmax value in [18F]FDG than [68Ga]FAPI. Conclusions: No significant superiority was observed in [68Ga]FAPI PET/CT over [18F]FDG PET/CT in patients with MM. However, [68Ga]FAPI PET/CT can be utilized as a complementary imaging method to [18F]FDG PET/CT in some settings, especially in low-[18F]FDG affinity and inconclusive cases. Considering the favorable aspects of [68Ga]FAPI PET/CT in MM, such as low background activity, absence of non-specific bone marrow, and physiological brain involvement, further studies with a larger sample size should be conducted.
Euroleague is one of the most popular professional indoor sports leagues in the world. It is globally ranked as the fi ft h-highest professional indoor sports league and the second-highest professional basketball league, just trailing behind the National Basketball Association (NBA). Th e objective of this study was to determine which game-related statistics can assist in predicting the team that will qualify for the next rounds of the Euroleague. Th e data used in the study were obtained from each team's offi cial average box score on the Euroleague website for 2010-2017. Th e datasets were arranged into two groups depending on the qualifi cation of the teams into the subsequent round. Discriminant analysis was applied to fi nd the gamerelated statistics that better contribute to qualifying for the next round. A three-point fi eld-goal percentage was considered to be an essential variable in every round. However, it was also observed that, contrary to expectations, off ensive rebounds had a negative eff ect in the fi nal four rounds. It is recommended these results be used to plan the team strategies and the player strategies accordingly in a long-term and demanding tournament like Euroleague.
