Even in light of the best available evidence, it is impossible for a clinician to determine whether a child presenting with ADHD will sustain the condition through adolescence and adulthood. The determination of this factors could help the delineation of prevention strategies in this group of patients. More prospective population-based cohort studies are important to expand our knowledge about ADHD trajectories across the life cycle.

Perinatal loss (PL) is the non-voluntary end of pregnancy or death of the baby from conception until 28 days into a newborns life. It includes miscarriage, stillbirth, and neonatal death. PL of an infant is recognized as a traumatic life event to all family members.
