The aim of this research is to find out the efectivity and also the variety of mass communication used by Jokowi-Ahok in DKI Jakarta Local Elections 2012. The method used on this research is quantitative which used numbering in data in the form of scoring/grade, raking, frequency, and analyzed using the statistics to answer the questions or research hyphotesis in a spesific way and to make a prediction that certain variable influence other variable. The result of this research show that on DKI Jakarta local elections 2012, Jokowi-Ahok had succed to influence their sympathizer and supporter from three aspects; cognitive, afective, and behavioral aspects. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas komunikasi massa yang digunakan pasangan Jokowi-Ahok dalam Pilkada Jakarta 2012. Khususnya pada jenis efek komunikasi massa yang muncul dari pasangan Jokowi Ahok pada Pilkada DKI Jakarta tahun 2012. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, yakni penelitian yang bekerja dengan angka, datanya berwujud bilangan (skor atau nilai, peringkat, frekuensi), dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik untuk menjawab pertanyaan atau hipotesis penelitian yang sifatnya spesifik dan untuk melakukan prediksi bahwa suatu variabel tertentu mempengaruhi variabel yang lain. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada Pilkada DKI Jakarta 2012, pasangan Jokowi-Ahok dalam komunikasi massanya berhasil mempengaruhi simpatisan dan pendukungnya dalam tiga aspek yaitu; aspek kognitif, aspek afektif, dan behavioral.

This article discusses the lexical variations of the Javanese language in traditional snack name in Palang subdistrict, Tuban Regency. The reason for choosing this object of research, is to explain the dialect variation especially in traditional snack naming among the society and to explain the reasons of lexical variation. This article focusses on two research questions, (1) Lexical variation on traditional snack name in Palang subdistrict, Tuban Regency, (2) The causative factor of lexical variations. This research used qualitative descriptive. The data of 45 gloss traditional snack name were collected through 19 observation point from 19 village in Palang subdistrict using field method and proficient method. The research funding of this article found the lexical variations on traditional snack naming are as follows; 1) Group without variation (22 gloss), 2) Group with variations (18 gloss) which consists of 2, 3, 4 and 6 form of lexical variations. The causative factor of the lexical variations due to the way of living and geographic factor.
Indonesia has been elected for the first time in the G20 Presidency. Shortly after being elected to the presidency holder, a big challenge arose which was the re-emergence of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. This situation forced Indonesia to appear as the leader of the world’s major economic countries. In this G20 Presidency, Indonesia has also built an image that is expected to help resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict. This analytical descriptive research aimed to analyze the image of Indonesia in the G20 Presidency on the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The approach used was a pragmatic approach, with speech act theory from Austin (1962) and Searle (1969), and image building theory from Lozier (1976). The data collection method chosen was the note-taking method with the data analysis technique was the pragmatic identity method. The data source for this research was an official speech video of President Joko Widodo responding to the Russia-Ukraine conflict which was obtained on the YouTube channel “Sekretariat Presiden”. The data collected were 13 utterances that contained the image of Indonesia on the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Based on the results of the analysis, the image of Indonesia through Joko Widodo’s speech was built through illocutionary meaning. The illocutionary meaning produces 8 (eight) images of Indonesia, namely committed, proactive, neutral, humanist, peace-loving, solutive, progressive, and responsible. The image of Indonesia on the Russia-Ukraine conflict was built as a form of the existence of Indonesia which is now the G20 Presidency. This image is principle for Indonesia as the holder of the G20 Presidency to influence the world to build peace.
