Empirical evidence for the fitting of cities size of Romania both from models having Pareto tails and from models which do not, situations that occur at the same time Comparisons of Pareto tails and log-normal or generalized beta of second kind (GB2) body distributions to mixtures of log-normal models Statistical equivalence of mixture of log-normal models to Pareto tails and different bodies Introduction of the threshold double Pareto GB2 model (tdPGB2) *Highlights (for review)
We propose a new method of constructing statistical models which can be interpreted as the lifetime distributions of series-parallel/parallel- series systems used in characterizing coherent systems. An open problem regarding coherent systems is comparing the expected system lifetimes. Using these models, we discuss and establish conditions for ordering of expected system lifetimes of complex series-parallel/parallel-series systems. Also, we consider parameter estimation and the analysis of two real data sets. We give formulae for the reliability, hazard rate and mean hazard rate functions.
This paper studies, by using the speed-gradient principle, the evolution of non-stationary processes in the context of maximization of Varma, weighted Rényi, weighted Varma and Rényi-Tsallis of order α entropies.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
