The e-Courts project consists of an entirely digital structure on the Web, providing access 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. The most important software of the Distribution Module is the Intelligent System for Validation of Parts of the Judicial Process (Sistema Inteligente de Validação de Peças Processuais -SIVAPP), which uses the most modern techniques of Artificial Intelligence to classify and store the petitions received by the system via web, allowing to optimise the time currently spent on filing and processing a judicial litigation.
Abstract. The present paper is about applying competence modeling for a knowledge engineer in the case of the company WBSA Sistemas Inteligentes S.A. The process was based on Lucia and Lepsinger model, by which competences are characterized through the identification of situations and behaviors considered relevant to the engineer performance. As one of the different techniques suggested by the model for collecting data, a number of individual interviews were undertaken and at the end it was defined and validated a set of eleven competence regarded as necessary for a satisfactory performance of a knowledge engineer.
The paper describes the Olimpo System, a knowledge-based system that enables the user to access textual files and to retrieve information that is similar to the search context described by the user in natural language. The paper is focused on the innovation recently implemented on the system and its new features. It is included an explanation about the UN Security Council itself and how it works, as well as a detailed analysis of the format of the resolutions and its main characteristics. A detailed description is presented about the search level and the similarity metrics used by the system. The methodology applied to the Olimpo system emphasises the use of information retrieval methods combined with the Artificial Intelligence technique named SCS (Structured Contextual Search).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
